Hey everybody.

First, I have to apologize for being MIA here at the Echo-Lit blog for a bit. Our summer rush has kicked in, and it feels like I’ve been busy helping with the printing and shipping, lather-rinse-repeat with a little design work thrown in. Don’t feel bad for me though, I actually really enjoy doing the shipping - seeing all the different places our prints are winding off towards - I love seeing the names of cities I’ve never heard of and reading interesting and melodic names… but I digress.

One of the other reasons we‘ve been so quiet is that we’re working hard to prepare for one of the biggest events Echo-Lit history - we are finally opening the doors of our brick and mortar shop to the public!

Most of you already know that Jeanne and Chris operated Echo-Lit out of the basement of their Fort Hill home for more than ten years. About two years ago, they made the decision to move the business into a standalone building, separate from their home. They picked a spot in Charleston’s historic Elk City district and began the process of outfitting the building to suit their needs. If you’ve been paying attention even a little bit over the last 18 months, you probably have heard that the whole dang world kinda decided to shut down for a while due to the pandemic. That’s not exactly an optimal situation to open a shop, obviously; but Jeanne and Chris knew eventually the world would return to normal-ish and they kept their dream of opening their shop to the public.

Jeanne and Chris have participated in a few pop-ups and local Etsy markets in the past, and have always loved being able to meet all the folks who love they same sort of things they do - books, reading, and beautiful design - but to finally be able to open the doors to an actual Echo-Lit shop and see their friends and neighbors is a dream come true. So it’s happening!

Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 10am until 4pm we will be open in Charleston’s Elk City shopping district!!!

In addition to our Grand Opening celebration, we are also celebrating some of our favorite people (EVER) - teachers and librarians. Educators who come see us on the 24th can show us their badge or school ID and get a FREE GIFT, just for swinging by!
